RL3 Residence

NantucketMassachusetts

The RL3 Residence project is a new single-family residence in Nantucket, Massachusetts. The design is a hybrid of classic New England–style exterior with large, modern interior. The building structures are traditionally framed with wood and engineered wood products. Steel framing was inserted in areas of structural necessity, including the ridge beam and the dormer header beams of the cathedral secondfloor family room. The residence features a signature wood and steel staircase inset into a glass shaft which relies on bent steel stringers that cantilever the midfloor landings.
