Baltimore, Maryland

The design for the signature staircase for the SMT Residence in Baltimore called for a Corian guardrail with a laser cut pattern throughout.  Craft was brought on board for this project to create a workable design solution that minimized deflection of the railing and kept the stresses in the Corian within allowable design limits based on code required loading.  A combination of physical testing and Solid Finite Element Analysis was employed to assist the design process and develop the final details.
